In the Faculty of Humanities there are two Schools comprising various fields of study and research. Depending on its size, each School has a Council of six or nine elected members and an equal number of deputy members. The chairperson of the Council is the Department Head. Tenured and acting professors, teachers and researchers, and students each choose one-third of the council's members from among their ranks.
The School Council is responsible for evaluating and developing research and instruction in the department, preparing motions for the Faculty Council concerning curriculum issues, procedural and financial matters, and fund allocation. The School Council also prepares motions about the number of new students in the department, is responsible for planning personnel policy and increases the flow of information to department personnel and students.
