Research and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Humanities

At the Faculty of Humanities, teaching is closely bound up with research. Research is either specific to each subject, or in some cases grouped together into broader projects.

Most of the research carried out in the Faculty of Humanities takes place in small-scale projects. In recent years, however, the Faculty has also been involved in a number of major research projects and in several national graduate school projects.

In August 2011 University of Turku established a graduate school to take care of the doctoral studies within the whole university: The University of Turku Graduate School - UTUGS.  Faculty of Humanities has two doctoral programmes as a part of it, Juno and Utuling.
