Semesters and Quarters
The academic year is divided into two semesters; the semesters are divided into two quarters of eight weeks. Students are required to attend the first meeting of the course they intend to take. No contact teaching (lectures, small groups, seminars) is offered during the last week of each quarter, but there may be examinations, deadlines for written assignments, etc. The eighth week is not intended to be a week off!
Autumn semester 2012
Teaching starts on Monday 3 September.
Quarter 1 (also known as Q1, SL-1): 3.9. - 28.10.2012
Quarter 2 (Q2, SL-2): 29.10. - 16.12.2012
Spring semester 2013
Teaching starts on Monday 7 January. There is an Easter break in late March. Finalized teaching timetables and info about sign-ups for small groups will be posted on the Department website in December.
Quarter 3 (Q3, KL-1): 7.1. - 3.3.2013
Quarter 4 (Q4, KL-2): 4.3. - 5.5.2013
No teaching from March 28 to April 3!
