International Students' Conference in Lithuania, 29 to 30 October 2009
Learn about the latest research and make useful contacts.
The conference, Languages and Cultures of the Modern World, will take place at VU Kaunas Faculty of Humanities (Lithuania) on 29-30 October, 2009.
Open to all undergraduate and master’s students, it is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing academic debate in the following areas:
- Linguistics
- Literary Theory/Criticism
- Folklore
- Cultural History
- Cross-Cultural Communication
Taking part in an academic conference has many benefits! Among them are:
- meeting new friends and making useful contacts;
- learning what other research is being done in your field of study;
- finding out about other points of view and broadening your own;
- sharing the results of your research with the wider academic community;
- getting instant feedback on your ongoing projects;
- gaining valuable experience that will be useful in any field you choose to pursue;
- taking your first steps towards a career in academics;
- travelling to other countries and learning about other cultures.
This year the conference will take place in Kaunas, Lithuania. Kaunas has a large student population and is a great place to spend a couple of days.
Participants will receive a CD containing all of the articles submitted for publication.
A copy of the registration form is attached. If you're interested, please fill it in and return to the organisers by October 15, 2009.
The conference description and the registration form are also available from the organisers' website at http://www.lu.lv/aktualitates/index.html?id=3708.
