About the company

STP Nordic provides translation services to and from the Nordic languages, English and German. Based on the south coast of England, we translate millions of words every year for other translation companies around the world. Our project managers, in-house translators and freelance partners are dedicated, experienced language professionals.

We are now looking for trainees to join our translation project management and Finnish translation teams.

Trainee placements

Project coordinator (2 places)

English-Finnish translator (2 places)

Placement dates

3-4 months between September-December 2011 and January-May 2012

Placement details

The placement is a structured period of work-based learning with extensive training in the use of translation environment tools. The trainees will work alongside our busy project management and Finnish translation teams. The placement gives the trainees an excellent view of the translation industry and its tools along with invaluable experience in working in a translation company.

The trainee placement is unpaid, but STP Nordic will compensate for the trainees' travel costs and assist in finding accommodation in England. Successful candidates can apply for an Erasmus work placement grant and opintotuki for the training period.

Requirements

Project coordinator: Translation Studies at either aineopinnot or syventävät opinnot level

Finnish translator: English-Finnish Translation Studies at either aineopinnot or syventävät opinnot level. Candidates will be asked to complete a short test translation.
