Asko Nivala
MA, PhD Student, Coordinator for Aboagora
My research area covers the age of German Romanticism. I am especially interested in historico-philosophical problems at the turn of the nineteenth century. My ongoing PhD-research discusses the themes of Golden Age and the Kingdom of God in Friedrich Schlegel?s early Romantic philosophy of history. Further, I have studied the notion of metaphors, humor, nostalgia and the grotesque during the age of Romanticism and in historiography in general. My other research interests include German Enlightenment and the recent theoretical discussion on political theology and messianism.
Aboagora
I work as a coordinator for Aboagora project. The aim of Aboagora is to question and deconstruct the juxtapositions between the arts and sciences, to establish new kinds of dialogical connections and to develop experimental models for academic and artistic expression. Aboagora promotes dialogue between the arts, humanities and sciences by bringing scholarly debates together with the arts and also by combining artistic expression with scholarly events.
