The School of History concentrates on a wide variety of research topics, ranging from the changes in Finnish local history to the history of the whole world, with emphasis on environmental history, cultural encounters and the popular, everyday history. The School of History is also Finland?s leading research unit in gender history. Time-wise the School?s research is concentrated on the Middle Ages and the Modern Times.
